The primary goal of this book is to help you prepare to pass either the9E0-121 or 642-511 Cisco Secure VPN (CSVPN) exams as you strive toattain the CCSP certification or a focused VPN certification. Questions make up a significantportion of this book, because they are what you are confronted with onthe exam and because they are a useful way to gauge your understandingof the material. Along with the extensive and comprehensive questions within thisbook and on the CD, this book also covers all the published topics forthe exam in detail, using charts, diagrams, and screenshots asappropriate to help you understand the concepts. The book assumes thatyou have a moderate understanding of networking (Cisco’s prerequisitefor CCSP certification is that you possess the CCNA certification andpass five additional exams), and does not attempt to bore you withmaterial that you should already know. Some published topics are statedwith the assumption that you possess certain knowledge that the CCNAcertification did not bestow upon you. In those cases, this bookattempts to fill in the missing material to catch you up to thematerial covered by the exam topic. Because this is an examcertification guide, the goal is to provide you with enough informationto understand the published topics and to pass the exam, in effectright-sizing the material to the topics of the exam.
