About the Author
David Overton
David Overton started his first two businesses while he was still atschool. Both were very successful. One was selling stationary to hisfellow pupils at prices below the local shops and the second wasproviding no-nonsense IT training without the use of jargon to localbusinesses. Since then his passion for small business has, on occasion,been tempered by his own employment in much larger businesses. In 2000he joined the ranks within Microsoft and moved back towards his passionfor small businesses. There he was tasked with improving the knowledgeof small business consultants in delivering business-centric IT totheir customers. This culminated with him holding the role of Head ofTechnology for Small Businesses within Microsoft UK. Since then he hasprogressed his career inside Microsoft, but he continues to play anactive part in the small business teams at Microsoft and themarketplace.
Outside of work he is married and has two beautiful children. Heenjoys sailing as an escape from life and he is always looking foropportunities to sail throughout the year.
